Maurice (Moe) Muise has spent the better part of three decades doing one thing exceptionally well: helping business owners exit on their own terms, at maximum value. As the Founder and President of Conexus Mergers & Acquisitions Inc., Moe brings a rare combination of strategic insight, financial acumen, and genuine respect for the emotional weight that comes with selling a business. His approach is grounded in honesty, clarity, and an unwavering commitment to his clients' success.
Moe's path to business leadership began long before the boardroom. In 1966, he joined the Royal Canadian Naval Reserve, later serving in the Canadian Armed Forces (Navy) until 1972. His service included a six-month NATO deployment in Europe during the Cold War, for which he was awarded the Special Service Medal — an experience that shaped the discipline, integrity, and resilience he brings to every client engagement today.
Following his military career, Moe pursued his education and graduated from the Nova Scotia Institute of Technology, complemented by executive-level training at Harvard Business School, Saint Mary's University, and Dalhousie University. Armed with both real-world grit and academic grounding, he went on to launch and scale two successful retail chains in Atlantic Canada, building the entrepreneurial instincts that would come to define his advisory career.
Moe has been guiding business owners through successful M&A and export development transactions since 1992. One of his landmark early achievements was brokering an international franchise agreement for a Canadian pizza franchisor in the United Arab Emirates — a deal that deepened his expertise in cross-border negotiations and multicultural business strategy. His years working across Dubai and the broader GCC region gave him an international perspective that few advisors in this space can match.
At Conexus, Moe leads a team offering end-to-end services across business valuations, business sales, financial analytics, virtual CFO solutions, and market research — with operations and associates spanning Canada, the United States, the UAE, and India. The name Conexus reflects what has always been at the heart of Moe's practice: connecting people, capital, and opportunity to create transactions that work for everyone at the table.
Outside of business, Moe remains deeply committed to the communities that shaped him. In 2013, he co-founded the Society of Atlantic Heroes to support military personnel, RCMP officers, first responders, and their families. In 2024, he was inducted into the Order of St. George — a Chivalric Order honouring Canadians who dedicate themselves to the Armed Forces and their communities.
If you're thinking about your next chapter — whether that's this year or five years from now — Moe offers a confidential, no-obligation conversation to help you map the path forward.
